Our certified lifeguards and Water Safety Instructors teach daily swim lessons to campers. We follow the American Red Cross swim program for beginners to advanced swimmers. At the end of the session, each camper receives an award certificate showing the level they have passed. We also offer competitive swim classes and Jr. Lifesaving classes!
We offer both Western and English instruction on camp grounds and are proud to follow the Camp Horsemanship Association’s (CHA’s) riding program. Our skilled riding instructors teach beginners through advanced riders. Trail rides, animal care, and beginning jumping for more advanced riders are part of the program too! Campers can elect to specialize in horseback riding and ride daily or take it as an elective three times a week.
Campers work on batting, base-running, pitching and fielding. Teamwork and sportsmanship are integrated into drills and games. Baseball is available for boys and softball for girls.
At camp you and your friends have the opportunity to get behind the wheel of your very own go-kart on our oval track. Equipped with all the safety features you require, this fast-paced and enjoyable activity is a favorite. Floor hockey is a fun and fast paced team game, that is similar to ice or roller hockey, just minus the skates! Players learn how to dribble, pass, and shoot a puck or ball into a goal, as well as team strategy and tactics. This is a great activity to choose for campers who have never played hockey before, or for those who are looking to get their ice hockey fix during the summer months.
One of our most popular activities. Campers follow safety commands for shooting and retrival procedures. Our instructors follow the National Archery Association guidelines and curriculum so lessons are geared at each camper’s skill progression. Targets start off closer in range for beginners. Range distance increases as campers progress in skill and confidence.
We work on the fundamentals of the game so all campers can enjoy their experience on the field. There is always an atmosphere of friendly competition and good sportsmanship. Campers develop a better understanding of the rules, foot skills and team tactics. Most importantly, we want every player to gain more confidence on the field. We also offer special clinics that cover ball handling, shooting, goalie skill and defense.
Daily instruction is offered for campers who want to improve their tennis skills. We follow the United States Tennis Association (USTA) program. Our skilled coaches teach small group lessons to approximately six campers at a time. Campers are divided into skill level and we teach beginning all the way through advanced lessons and also have a tournament level class for players who compete at a high level back home. Advanced players may participate in an optional tournament at the end of each session. Campers can elect to do private lessons once or twice a week with one of our tennis pros.
Our golf instructors teach the fundamentals of the game on our 6-hole, par 3 course with a full driving range. We have recently added an extensive putting green to our golf program where campers can hone their putting skills. By learning more about the game, understanding shot positioning to the club selection, the golf program is designed to find the Tiger in each camper. At the end of each session, campers have the option to experience the “real thing” by playing 18 holes at a local golf course! Campers can elect to do private golf once or twice a week with one of our golf pros.
We follow the American Red Cross Swim Program. Our qualified swim instructors and lifeguards teach campers of all levels stroke development, technique and help beginner swimmers build confidence in the water. The pool is also home to our Jr. Lifesaving class, which teaches more confident swimmers basic water safety and lifeguarding skills.
Pickleball is a paddleball sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. Pickleball will be offered as a cabin activity and free choice activity.
Our experienced instructors, work with campers on improving their skills in bumping, setting, spiking, and serving while developing a better understanding of the rules and fundamentals. In addition to improving specific skills, we offer Volleyball Leagues where campers are grouped on teams by age and play in a series of competitive games which culminates into a championship game.
Our lacrosse instruction caters to beginner players all the way up to high school lacrosse players!Beginners focus on basic technique including stick handling, cradling, scooping and passing. As campers progress game concepts are introduced. Advanced players can focus on technique and skill develop for their positions.
Upon first glance, our wall poses an incredible physical challenge, however, it is the personal accomplishment which will remain with each climber. Our certified climbing staff motivate campers as they maneuver through the course. Each camper is “challenged by choice” and elects any of the six courses our tower features, from beginning to advanced courses. Our tower also features a traverse wall, high ropes course, giant swing and zip line.
A popular & safe alternative to tackle football, flag football is a fast-paced game that challenges each player to think outside the box. Instead of tackling, players must remove the flag belt of their opponent in order to end a play. Campers develop a better understanding of the rules, ball carrying and handling, defensive strategies, and teamwork. Campers also work on conditioning and leave the field each day with more confidence.
Jewelry, Fine Arts, Set Design, and Ceramics: Our visual arts program lets campers of all levels dive into a multitude of media sources, including but not limited to crafts, hand building and wheel thrown ceramics, oil, acrylic, water color painting, printmaking, relief sculpture, batiking, leather working, beading, wire wrapping, silver clay, enameling and much more!
Our 4 and 8 week girls campus consists of 13 modern and spacious cabins with bathrooms, showers and electricity. Campers are grouped by age and live with 3 or 4 counselors. Lake of the Woods has about 200 girls each 4 week session. Campers enjoy ping pong, tetherball and hanging out on their cabin porch during free time.
Fishing at camp is so much more than simply throwing your line into the water and hoping to catch a big one. This fun and exciting activity will teach you the various knots used, how to bait a hook, correct casting techniques, and how to successfully catch and release a variety of fish.
We offer lessons for beginners to advanced skiers, trick skis, wake-boarding, knee-boarding and a boom for beginners. We were written up in Water Ski Magazine as one of the “Top Ten” recommended ski camps in America!
Sailing is one of of our most popular waterfront activities. Our sailing instructors have the experience and expertise to teach you the technical aspects of steering one of our sunfish boats by wind. From rigging your own boat to knot tieing and to learning your port from your starboard. Sailing is a great choice for those who love spending time on the water.
Windsurfing combines the elements of sailing, surfing and characteristics of skateboarding, wake boarding and waterskiing. Our instructors use fun games and drills to help develop your skills while keeping you safe and happy on the water. Stand up paddle boarding is a fun and relaxing way to play on the water. Paddle boarding delivers a full-body workout and our instructors will teach you the correct stance and technique to allow you to enjoy our beautiful lake.
Campers sit in our dining hall as cabin groups for all 3 meals. Meals are served family style, but campers enjoy plenty of nutritious options at each meal. We have something at every meal for even the pickiest eaters! We have extensive breakfast bars in the morning, build your own salad bars at lunch and dinner and pasta bars every night! Our dining hall is a peanut and tree nut free facility.
Campers learn a variety of cooking techniques and skills as they create delicious meals and baked goods in our brand new cooking facility. Feed your culinary curiosity and learn how to make some of your favorite meals, basic nutrition, food safety and more.
Riflery is one of the most honored traditional camp activities. At our range, campers receive quality instruction focusing on gun safety and accuracy using of .22 rifles. We follow curriculum set by the NRA Scoring and Award System. Campers learn to shoot progressively from three positions; prone, kneeling, to standing. When shooting, all campers wear eye and ear protection.
Beat Production, Songwriting, Vocals, Keyboard, and Drums: Want to be the next famous DJ? Want to win a Grammy some day? At our Recording Studio, you will develop specific production and musical skills by learning to create music using industry standard audio recording software. You’ll learn the basics of sampling, looping, audio sequencing, MIDI, and arrangement. Campers who already play an instrument or want to learn a new one, will hone their skills on drums and keyboard with our experienced and talented staff. They will teach you chords, melody arrangement, and help you create original music. Gain insight into how much of the music you listen to is created by learning how to create it yourself!
Improve flexibility, agility, coordination and strength in our gymnastics classes that cater to all ages and skill level. Our program includes training on uneven bars, parallel bars, low beam, high beam, vault and pommel horse and floor tumbling.
Discover your passion for dance in our mirrored studio. Campers can sign up for hip-hop, jazz or ballet dance instruction and show off their moves at the end of each session during our dance show.
Improve agility, coordination, and gain strength in our fitness classes that cater to all ages and skill levels. Our qualified instructors keep classes fun and challenging with a different program each session. Campers gain skills and strength through our program which includes circuit training, spin bikes, free weights, and more! In addition to fitness, we offer yoga, pilates, aerobics, and cross country classes.
Our 4 and 8 week boys campus is situated on beautiful lakefront property. Our 4 and 8 week campus has 11 modern and spacious cabins with bathrooms and electricity. Campers are grouped by age and live with 3 or 4 counselors. Greenwoods has about 165 campers each 4 week session. Campers enjoy ping pong and tetherball during their free play time.
We focus on the fundamentals of the game, so all players can improve their skills and gain more confidence on the court. Led by experienced coaches, activity time consists of drills, understanding team strategies, dribbling, handling, and shooting. In addition to basketball instruction, we offer Basketball Leagues where players are grouped on teams by age and play in a series of competitive games which culminates to a championship game. There is always an atmosphere of healthy competition and sportsmanship.
