The National Institute on Media and The Family have been promoting healthier media choices since 1996. There website gives detailed information on how media (video games in particular) influences bullying, youth violence, school performance and obesity. They suggest that self discipline, the ability to delay gratification, perseverance, imagination and respect are all building blocks for success and that poor media choices are undermining all of these building blocks. Their website is a very useful tool for information on the adolescent brain and the powerful impact that media can have.
