Taking Care of Campers Better Than Anyone...
Since 1935, we have been the home away from home for girls seeking a summer filled with fun, excitement, laughter, traditions and profound friendships. We pride ourselves on ensuring that each girl feels a part of our camp community that values acceptance, inclusion, camaraderie and individuality.
We provide a warm, nurturing environment where girls are empowered to discover their talents and strengths grow in confidence and self-esteem through the individual attention we provide each of our campers.
We believe that camp is a critical part of a child’s education and social development. Our campers leave camp with life skills such as independence, decision making, team work and a sense of resilience that help ensure a successful foundation for their future.
Campers ages 7-15 attend Lake of the Woods Camp from across the United States and around the world. A typical session includes about 200 girls with 14 girls in each cabin. Campers live in spacious, airy, modern cabins with electricity, bathrooms and showers.
Greenwoods Camp is our brother camp located adjacent to us. Although the camps share some of the same facilities, each camper enjoys traditional all-girl experiences and activities. Occasionally the two camps get together for an evening program and one special day each session.
Our camps have been featured in USA Today, Wall Street Journal, Crain’s Chicago Business, Family Life Magazine, National Public Radio and numerous other publications and media outlets.
