We are excited to announce our first (optional) Swim-a-Thon to benefit SCOPE Midwest. Campers will have opportunities to fundraise before camp and complete laps in the lake while at camp.

1. New Camper Parties
The full-time staff really enjoyed meeting new campers to Lake of the Woods & Greenwoods Camps. Thanks to all of those that came to the parties. Photos have been uploaded to our facebook page so please check them out here: www.facebook.com/lwcgwc.
2. National Camp Conference - Denver, Colorado
The American Camp Association (ACA) celebrated it's 100 anniversary at the National Conference. Chaired by Dayna Hardin, the conference attracted over 1,000 camp professionals from around the world! A tribute to the ACA was shown at the conference and we have added it to our YouTube favorites.

ACA also officially launched the 'Because of Camp' billboard campaign. The purpose is to raise awareness of the positive impact of the camp experience. For more information, click here.
3. Munster and St. Louis Reunions & Camp Fair
Our Munster and St. Louis parties were a huge success. We had a great time reconnecting with our campers from the areas and meeting new families. Thanks to all that attended.

4. Our 75th Summer Celebration!
2009 marked a very special summer at Lake of the Woods and Greenwoods Camps. We celebrated our 75th summer with current campers and staff and alumni from every decade. Almost 100 of our alumni attended the event, some of which were campers in the 30’s!
Our alumni reminisced by participating in some activities and campers enjoyed learning songs from previous generations. It had been 20 years since their last performance but the ‘Purple Herman and the Wet Willies’ reunited to perform for our current campers. Dayna Hardin honored the legacy of the two previous owners with a dedication ceremony to conclude a memorable day at Lake of the Woods and Greenwoods Family of Camps!
